Zoom at noon on Monday, Nov. 2, when Lunch and Learn will introduce shul member Stephan Brumberg, professor of education and history emeritus at Brooklyn College and the Graduate Center of CUNY, who will talk about the moving immigrant story of turn-of-the-20th-century Jews and the New York City public schools, and how each affected the other. The story, titled “Going to America, Going to School,” will be told through the words of participants.

On Thursday, Nov. 5, Rabbi Gadi will continue his series on
Jewish history, responding to a request made by many of us in the recent long-range planning survey. In the second installment of the series, the rabbi will discuss Theodor Herzl, the father of modern political Zionism, and the formation of the first Zionist Congress. We will learn how Zionism promoted immigration to Palestine in an effort to create a Jewish state.

Be sure to Zoom at noon every Monday and Thursday.
