The Lunch and Learn program on Monday, Nov. 30, promises to be a true learning experience. We will travel to Ethiopia, courtesy of our guest, Kasa Bainesay-Harbor, who will talk about the ancient Jewish holiday of Sigd, which is still celebrated by the Ethiopian Jewish community. Ethiopian Jews, once isolated from other Jewish communities, developed holidays and celebrations related to sacred ritual but unique to their country.

Our guest speaker is the Deputy Consul General at the Israeli Consulate in Miami, FL. Kasa earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Hebrew University, and a master’s in public policy from Tel Aviv University. She is fluent in Hebrew, English and Amharic, an Afro-Asiatic language spoken in her home country.

Zoom at noon for a unique Jewish experience.

On Thursday, Dec. 3, Rabbi Gadi will offer the next installment of his fascinating Jewish history series. Join us as we are introduced to Golda Meir and Menachem Begin, who represent opposing camps — Socialist and Conservative – in the Zionist project.

Zoom at noon to focus on two forceful voices in the fight for a Jewish homeland.
