Auction Fever

Seems everybody we talk to these days is aglow with auction fever. The word is out. Plans for the 2021 installment of the Virtual Silent Auction are underway, and excitement is in the air. Okay, keep your shirts on, folks, here’s everything you need to know:

 When is it?

Place your bids at the opening party on Sunday, May 16, at 5 p.m.

(Don’t be late. You snooze, you lose.)

How do we bid?

Come to the opening party for a look-see and a chance to place opening bids.

Will it be as much fun as last year’s auction?

You betcha! More stuff and more fun!

What are the items?

Aha! Glad you asked, because that’s where you come in…

Our shul has 121 members. If every member would donate one really nice item or a service, we would have one mega bang-up event. Sotheby’s and Christie’s — eat your hearts out! There’s a new guy in town. When it comes to auction action, Congregation Tifereth Israel tops ‘em all.

Here’s how to donate:

  • Choose your item, and take a photo of it. (Yes, donations are tax deductible.)
  • If you’re donating a gift certificate or service, type it up and take a photo.
  • Email the photos to drtombyrne@me.com or madelyn765@aol.com. Include a description

and the value of your donated items. (We will start the bidding at half the value.)

  • Questions? Problems? Call Madelyn at 631-559-2816 or Tom at 631-765-5275.
  • Chop-chop. The opening party will be here before you know it. Be a part of the success with your donation and your bid. You’ll have a rollicking good time.

Thanks everyone. Hope to hear from you soon.

Francis, Madelyn and Tom
