As I consider our capacity to evolve in ever-shifting times, it becomes apparent that this is, indeed, the strength of our synagogue. Our power is in  the community, in our shul family, in our collective responses to change.  Our ability to embrace new technology, new programming, and new  members enriches all of our lives. It strengthens the synagogue, while stabilizing our fiscal house. Our roster of programs and services grows longer and longer. This past year, we continued the Lunch and Learn series and our weekly Shul Schmooze. We magnified the scope of the  Tikkun Olam Initiative, added JTS’s new Beyond Dispute course, expanded the Hebrew class, and initiated the Shehechyanu Curtain, a Judaism and Art project to illustrate personal responses to the  pandemic. We also joined the Yellow Candle Project to participate in a global tribute to victims of the  Holocaust.

Now we are growing our member participation in services — adding Musical Training Meet-Ups  and special Alyiot for birthday and anniversary milestones.

None of this happens in a vacuum. I want to thank members of the Board of Directors, who have  served and continue to serve with fierce dedication and commitment. Three members of this Board are  rotating off at the close of June 2022. We applaud Susan Rosenstreich, Miriam Gabriel, and Ann Hurwitz  for their thoughtful guidance and their unwavering commitment to Congregation Tifereth Israel.  Brava! You helped make it all possible.
