About Congregation Tifereth Israel Greenport

People often describe Congregation Tifereth Israel as “a gem of a synagogue on the North Fork of Long Island.” Our setting in the maritime village of Greenport, our historical roots that reach back to the earliest Jewish settlers here, and our synagogue building, where we worship in the same space that our founders had envisioned more than 120 years ago — all serve to welcome members, guests, and visitors to our synagogue.

We offer spiritual wellbeing, educational opportunities, social events, and an environment that encourages music, art, cooking, gardening, quilting, and other creative expressions of the inner spirit. The Jewish concept of Tikkun Olam is an important part of our programming.
