Dear Chevra,

In trying to get my thoughts together, many things are running through my head, not the last is our beloved synagogue. It is time for all of us to come together and move forward with faith, hope, and good will.

We can start that process by coming to shul, be it in person or via ZOOM and help to make a Minyan so members can recite the Kaddish, that is one unselfish step in helping the process for healing for many of us. We must also keep in mind the many ‘strangers’ who come into our shul with the expectation of reciting the Kaddish. It is our duty as a “haven” to be able to provide that service as well.

I have no doubt we want our shul to be here for another one hundred years and that can happen if we unstiffen our necks and move forward with an open heart.

Shalom,

Elaine (Yitta) Goldman
