Hello, Lunch and Learners. Here’s a preview of what’s on tap for our Zoom at noon program next week. We hope you were able to Zoom at noon on Monday for shul member Saul Rosenstreich’s insightful look at making art and the creative process. Rabbi Gadi followed up on the art theme on Thursday with a discussion about God, the constant artist.

Coming up this Monday, June 29, shul members Nancy and Dan Torchio will talk about “Livin’ the Dream,” their 6-month sailing adventure aboard the Rhapsody, a 47-foot cutter-rigged Passport sailing vessel. In all, they voyaged more than 3,600 nautical miles from Greenport harbor, on Nov. 20, 2019, to Bermuda, San Juan, Culebra, St. John, and St. Croix, returning on May 28, 2020. Learn what it takes to provision, maintain and operate a cruising sailboat, including sharing excerpts from the ship’s log and Nancy’s perspective as first mate.

On Thursday, July 2, Rabbi Gadi will follow up on the sailing theme with a view of actual Jewish laws on how to maintain Jewish life in unusual circumstances, even on a boat.

Sign into Zoom at 12 o’clock every Monday and Thursday. Have lunch with shul friends, and learn a little, followed by a Q&A and some lively discussion. Visit www.tiferethisraelgreenport.org, click on “go to meeting,” follow the prompts, and type in the code(same as for events and services). That’s all there is to it.

Why lunch alone? Come eat, come listen, come talk. Don’t forget: Zoom at noon for Lunch and Learn. See you Monday.
