The Book Circle will meet Wednesday, August 18, at 1 p.m. on Zoom, to talk about Sonia Purnell’s spy story, A Woman of No Importance. The story revolves around Virginia Hall, a Baltimore socialite, who became the first Allied woman deployed behind enemy lines. She began by helping the French Resistance, in the process revolutionizing modern secret warfare. Later, her guerilla campaign saved many from the Nazis.
The Book Circle meets monthly to explore works about Jews and by Jewish writers. For more information, call the shul at 631-477-0232 and leave a message for Susan Rosenstreich, coordinator of the group.
