As the Covid pandemic lessens and we reflect on the past year, let’s give thanks for having survived. The Shehechyanu blessing (who has sustained us) is the traditional Hebrew prayer for this sentiment.
The Shehechyanu Curtain is a Judaism and the Arts group project to encourage each of us to reflect on the Covid experience and, perhaps, our reordered priorities. We can then express those feelings in paintings, drawings, poems, thoughts, photographs, etc. Each submission will be displayed on a canvas panel to be mounted on a wall in the community room of the shul, the length to be determined by the number of submissions, perhaps wrapping around the entire room. J&A members will be available to assist with materials, advice and assembly. Work will begin in mid-August. Meanwhile, J&A invites you and members of your family to think about how to represent your Covid impressions. Saul Rosenstreich illustration
