Dear Friend of Congregation Tifereth Israel,

We are publishing our Virtual/Online Journal celebrating our 125th anniversary this year and hope that you will choose to advertise in it. Whether this may be your first time advertising with us or if you have participated in the past, it is an excellent marketing opportunity along with a way to support the work we do supporting our local community. Our Virtual Journal is live online 24/7/365, which is seen locally and on widely-viewed social media sites, bringing your message to residents and visitors near and far, who support our local economy.

Our historic Greenport Synagogue has been serving North Fork and Shelter Island residents and guests since 1901. We believe in supporting our community and in the concept of Tikkun Olam – actions that repair and improve the world. With your help, we can continue to support educational programs and scholarships for Greenport High School students, including a field trip for tenth graders to visit the Holocaust Museum and Tolerance Center. We also work with our neighbors at Common Ground, growing, harvesting, and delivering fresh vegetables throughout the growing season to North Fork food banks. We provide CAST with books for preschoolers, and food for holiday meals. In addition, we host educational, interfaith, and cultural events at our historic Synagogue on 4th Street, which all are invited to, throughout the year.

This year we are pleased to honor Ann Hurwitz as our Synagogue Honoree and Linda Kessler as our Community Honoree.  Both women have served our communities with distinction for many years and we are proud to recognize their many contributions.
