Congregation Tifereth Israel is a Historic Synagogue on the North Fork in Greenport. It is an egalitarian, inclusive, Conservative synagogue committed to strengthening Jewish values, learning and spiritual well-being as well as building a close, warm and supportive community for all who wish to join.

Trifecta workout; new session with Laurie Short

The winter session of Strength Trifecta begins on  Thursday, January 4 and runs every Monday and Thursday until Thursday, February 29, for a total of 16 classes. There will be no class on Monday, February 19. Equipment needed: two pairs of weights, one heavy and one light: e.g., 5 lbs and 3 lbs, or 6 lbs and 4 lbs, also a mat. New Drama Club Forming For Actors, Playwrights, Playreaders

Shul member Rosa Lee Emerson is calling all actors, playwrights and playreaders to join a new group she is heading at the shul called DramaWorks. The first meeting will be held on Thursday, Jan. 4, from 6:45-7:45 p.m., on the shul’s Zoom. ​​​​​​​ In the planning stages are readings, theater games, mime and improv that focus on Jewish identity, and perhaps a performance later in the spring for shul members, family and friends.
