Madelyn Rothman, who monitors the shul’s two planting beds at Common Ground at Treiber Farm, told The Shofar that the Tikkun Olam group is trying some new efficiency methods this year. The goal is to produce a greater harvest because of increased demand for the vegetables and herbs, she said.
Onions, carrots, cucumbers, zucchini and peppers are the most popular veggies.
The group is always open to more volunteers to help with the garden beds. Those interested can contact the Tikkun Olam group by emailing Veronica Kaliski, coordinator of the group, at ctigreenport@gmail.com with a message for Veronica. Tikkun Olam photo
