At Last, On Thursday, July 31,

Mah Jongg Is Coming To The Shul

Wha-Hoo!

Come Join Us For A Fun Night: The Game,

The Players, And Refreshments, too

No matter how you spell it — Mah Jongg, Mah-Jongg, Mahjong, Mahjongg — it is a game enjoyed by more than 600 million players worldwide. And now, three enterprising devotees of the pastime are bringing it to our shul. Mark your calendars now so you won’t miss out on the fun:

Thursday, July 31, beginning at 7 p.m. in the community room

Shul members Helaine Teperman and Nancy Torchio, joined by Michelle Schwartz, are asking people to sign up, indicating at what level they play so that groups can be formed. (If players have their own group, they should indicate that.) Beginners are welcome as long as they know the basics, the women said. “This is not a night to learn the game, but with interest, teaching will come next,” they said.

Those who have Mah Jongg sets should bring them. Will there be refreshments? Of course. What’s a game night without good snacking?

Come and join fellow Mah Jongg players for a fun night of being together and meeting new players. Please contribute $5 per person to cover expenses. Thanks. See you on the 31st.
