The spirit of Purim lingers on…

March 29th, 2021|

Purim has come and gone, but the good will remains. Thanks to Phil Goldman, who baked the hamantaschen; to shul president Judith Weiner, who purchased the candies and treats; to Elaine Goldman, who packaged up 18 Purim bags for shul members living alone, homebound, or ill; and to Carol Seigel and Rabbi Capela, who delivered all the Purim parcels, Purim was a joyous occasion for shul members from Mattituck to Orient.

Lunch and Learn – Jody Levin and Peggy Lauber: Birding on the North Fork

March 18th, 2021|

Monday, March 22
Join Jody Levin and Peggy Lauber on Lunch and Learn this Monday as they reveal the joys and the exasperations of birdwatching (birding) on the North Fork. How do we participate in this sport that captivates nearly 50,000 enthusiasts across the country? When is a good time to get started? Where are the best places to start looking?
According to Jody, the spring migration has begun, the warblers are returning, and even after 45 years of searching the skies and the fields, she never tires of this vernal phenomenon.
Zoom at noon for a bird’s-eye view of this tantalizing recreational activity that provides an intimate connection between its enthusiasts and the natural environment.
