The July meeting of the Book Circle will take place on Wednesday, the 15th, at noon, on Zoom. The novel selected, People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks, involves history, mystery, antiquity and Judaica — all together in a rip-roaring good story.

Inspired by true events, the work traces the harrowing journey of the famed Sarajevo Haggadah, a beautifully illuminated Hebrew manuscript created in 15th-century Spain. The narrative asks a rare-book expert to conserve the priceless gem, protecting the pages in which clues to its past are hidden.

The Book Circle meets each month to explore books on Jewish themes and Jewish writers. For more information, call the shul at 631-477-0232 and leave a message for Susan Rosenstreich, coordinator of the group.
