Two shul organizations — the Tikkun Olam Initiative and Sisterhood — have joined forces to help CAST (Community Action Southold Town) collect school supplies for needy children scheduled to return to their classrooms this fall. The drive will run from Friday, August 6, through Monday, August 23. Items to be donated can be deposited into the collection box that will be posted outside the kitchen door of the synagogue.
Here is a list of what is needed: colored pencils, colored construction paper, composition books, crayons, notebook dividers, dry-erase markers, erasers, manilla folders, glue, glue sticks, graph paper, index cards, loose-leaf binders and loose-leaf paper, markers, highlighters, paperclips, pencil boxes, pencil sharpeners, pencils and pens, play dough, post-its, protractors, rulers, scissors, spiral notebooks, face masks, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer.
Those with questions about the back-to-school drive can call the shul at 631-477-0232 and leave a message for Veronica Kaliski or Adrianne Greenberg.
